Planetary Industry: The Side Business

UPDATE (1/13/2026): It seems I had made an error in this post. I forgot what I was doing and forget that I couldn't do p0->p2 production due to not having Command Center Upgrades 5. I am doing a correction to this post with the fact I am doing p0->p1 production and using those templates.

So I have recently got quite a few months of Omega stacked onto my account (about 5 months worth) and I figured I would try dipping my feet again into the wonderful world of...

 Planetary Industry.

I  have done it in the past and these days it is so much easier to get into, but is still an ISK and bit of a time sink. In the past we didn't have templates, so you had to literally play a secondary game of Clicking Master on each of your planets to set them up. These days we have templates (thank you CCP Games for finally giving us this long requested feature) so it's just a matter of having the ISK available and about a minute or two worth of time to put the template down and connect everything and press start.

I've been working on the skills, alongside a +6 boost cerebral accelerator, and I should be finally able to start setting up my planets in the next few day of this post.

I am not going to be going super heavy into it and have it be more of something I can do on the side of ratting, exploring and mining that can be done in the morning (which would mainly consist of just restarting extractors).

With my alliance ramping up their industry stuff and needing literally everything to help build, I figured what I do in PI could help fill gaps in our industrial corps stockpile. What I am going to be providing will literally be a drop in the lake compared to what some people do (multiple accounts with max planets), but everything can and will help.

I've been scouting around in our staging and surrounding systems to plan out my planets and our staging system pretty much has all the planets I need to use with fairly good resource density (mostly only 90% on what I need).

When CCP Games released the update for PI templates, I started using ones provided by a Horde member (now ex-Horde since it basically no longer exists) and I am surprised their github page is still around. I'll be going the super lazy route and using templates made for p0 to p1 production so I won't need to have to haul stuff to a dedicated factory planet.

Anyway I look forward to dipping my feet into PI again. It's been quite awhile since I've done it.
